The School Recycling Program is free to all schools in Alberta, and is funded by the Alberta Beverage Container Recycling Corporation. By participating, I agree to receive occasional emails about program updates.
The responsibility of the school is to set up the recycling bins, collect and return empty beverage containers to a depot and track the container counts online through the School Recycling Program online account.
By enrolling in the School Recycling Program, schools acknowledge the requirement to report the number of containers collected through the program on a monthly basis. All empty beverage container recycling reports must be completed through the School Recycling Program online account. Your school volume summary can also be viewed and tracked within your account.Schools can track all beverage containers that they return-including those collected in the school and through various school initiatives, such as bottle drives.
All of the money received from the collection and refund of the beverage containers becomes the property of the school.
It is the responsibility of the participating school to obtain all required landowner permissions to place bins and collect beverage containers from the premises.
