The School Recycling Program is free to all schools in Alberta, and is funded by the Alberta Beverage Container Recycling Corporation. By participating, I agree to receive occasional emails about program updates.
Schools are responsible for setting up recycling bins, collecting and returning empty beverage containers to a depot and tracking the container counts online through the School Recycling Program online account.
By enrolling in the School Recycling Program, schools acknowledge the requirement to report the number of containers collected through the program on a monthly basis. All empty beverage container recycling reports must be completed through the School Recycling Program online account.
School volume summaries are available through the online account. Schools can track the beverage containers that they return, including those collected within the school and through various school initiatives, such as bottle drives.
All of the money received from the collection and refund of the beverage containers becomes the property of the school.
It is the responsibility of the participating school to obtain all required landowner permissions to place bins on and collect beverage containers from the premises.
